It may already be obvious to many of you, but meditation is the best way to achieve inner peace.
I have always wanted to find inner peace in my life. It didn’t matter how much money I had, who I loved, or what I liked to do, I wasn’t happy because of the anxiety. So, I was looking for ways to achieve inner peace. I traveled, read books, met various people and asked for advice. The effort was not in vain, of course. Because the answer is everywhere in this world.
But I knew that to make the answer my own, I would have to make my own effort. As part of that effort, I found meditation to be the most effective method. Mediation is essentially a journey of self-reflection. You need to look inside your mind and know what is messing up your mind.
My meditation teacher taught me this.
“In the mind that one has built up over one’s lifetime, there is only stress and therefore, there is no inner peace. When you discard this mind of stress, you will have a peaceful mind, which is the mind of Truth. “
Isn’t it so simple and obvious? It is so hard to have a peaceful mind because there are so many things piled up in our minds. It is impossible to see or feel the inner peace within because of the garbage in your mind, which has never been removed. So meditation should be a way to clear the clutter of the mind. Inner peace can’t be found by wandering, but by removing the impurities that prevent you from seeing it.
There are a lot of garbage minds that keep you away from having inner peace. But here are some biggest minds what I found that prevents me to find inner peace. If you can look back on your minds, maybe you will be able to be free of them.
1.Misconception that I have ownership of the world:
We all mistakenly think that we are the center of the world. So the human mind is egocentric. The Truth is that the world is not mine, it belongs to the world. A new perspective allows you to see things more clearly.
2. Wishing the world goes my way:
We hope that many small and big things in our everyday lives will go our way. However, since ‘I’ am not the owner of the world, it does not go ‘my’ way. When you try to see and accept the world as it is, true peace comes to your heart.
3. Discerning mind:
When I look at the world from my own perspective, nothing is right. My judgment of people and the world is based on this, and at the end, I wrestle with my own thoughts. You cannot be truly happy if you cannot accept yourself as you are.
If you meditate by honestly looking at these minds and throwing them away, the dark minds will gradually be peeled off and the inner peace that originally existed will be revealed. It is our right to be at peace within ourselves. Because it is a gift from the Universe we are born with.
