Gratitude is a feeling of appreciation felt by one who has received kindness, gifts or other types of generosity from another person or other source. It is a powerful human emotion, and practicing gratitude can have incredible positive benefits for our mental well-being and overall health.
Studies and research have shown that expressing feelings of gratitude activates regions of the brain that control basic emotion regulation, including stress relief, pain reduction and overall happiness. Gratitude in all forms is associated with happiness and by practicing gratefulness our lives can become healthier and happier.
